We are so glad you all made it to Rally Day 2018. The kids had a blast playing games and wearing animal hats. Thank you to the ladies in the kitchen for serving a lovely breakfast and a thank you to the Christian Education committee for putting it all together! All creatures great and small.. Our Lord God made them all.
Rally Day 2018 is on September 9th. Our theme this year is "All of God's Animals." Join us at 9 am for breakfast, hopscotch, hula hoop contest, and animal fun as we kick off another great year of Sunday School.
Templed Hills is a Christian based camp and retreat center located in Bellville, Ohio. The site is a beautiful and serene setting ideal for youth, adult and family camps. It features beautiful woodlands, meadows, pond, and trails. Many of the buildings have recently been remodeled and updated. The children will enjoy a pool, basketball & volleyball courts, and a football & soccer field. Mission/Lineage: Templed Hills is owned by the Ohio Conference of the United Church of Christ and is one of several camp, conference centers and retreats operated by the cooperative efforts of United Camps, Conferences and Retreats. We are sending “9” kids to camp this year!! Thanks for all of the donations and fundraiser help.
They made it! Harley Barker, Keagan Sqrow, Emma Lybarger and Jamie Miller passed their confirmation exam and fulfilled the requirements to be confirmed on Pentecost Sunday. Congrats to the Confirmands!
How many times, youth, how many times did I say "Hi, how are you?" today? General consensus was around 10. So what? You quit listening after 5. But, it does matter. I want to know how you really really are. Lord knows I have crazy things in my life, and news flash! I work in the schools, not just elementary, but middle school and high school. And not just with really challenged kids. I work with kids just like you. They text me at crazy hours about boyfriends, mean girls, Facebook bullies. So, if you think I got no clue cause I have little kids that you could babysit, think again. I'm in the trenches along side you, slogging through halls filled with all kinds of hazards. If the weather would ever cooperate, it would be cool to do a lock in. Volleyball, movies, maybe even some human sized board games. Ever play live sized chutes and ladders? Hungry, Hungry, Hippos? Check out the videos on Youtube. Anyway, it's been a long day. I'm tired. Think about it, and between Winter sports winding down, and Spring starting, lets lock in, and have some fun!
So, we all know that snow days happen for school. But church? Not so much. And I am supposed to be giving the sermon tomorrow? How lucky is that? But don't worry. I'll be back next week.. Hehehe.
With all this snow on the ground, I am thinking about sledding, and snowball fights, and snow angels... But, we are also looking forward to PAINTBALL!!! Anyone else geared up? We had so much fun this past summer, even with the heat. Join us indoors for another epic battle! First we have a bowling trip scheduled for March 15, and then Easter, but we gotta get out there guys!
